Confessions

Today I ran out of reading material (my motto in life is: a book a day keeps Alzheimer’s away – not really I just read stupidly fast.)
A confession. I was forced to read (it was that or read the back of the shampoo bottle) Angel by Katy Price. There I’ve said it – it came free with a woman’s magazine (Glamour?) last summer and has been haunting me from the pile of books I will only read if:
I get snowed in.
If there’s a nuclear holocaust and I’m the only survivor and these are the only other books left in the world to entertain myself with.
But I cracked and read it. Pray that it doesn’t come to this next week (must get to the library) otherwise I’ll be reading ‘The Wag’s Handbook’ – kill me now.

Currently attempting to read ‘A Farewell to Arms’ by Ernest Hemingway. To be honest I would much rather be reading some trash I could whizz through in a few hours but since I have turned 30, I must attempt to re-engage my literary brain. So far I’m finding it wordy and over descriptive, a bit like one of the loathed A Level English Literature books!

Watched:
Kyle XY – TV show [sci-fi/teen drama] I’m amazed at the lead actors eyebrows – I think he must have had botox. Good premise for a show though!

New camera

Lovely boyfriend got paid and I got my birthday present (not too bad only a day late.) It’s a Fujifilm Finepix J100 – very simple, very sleek looking – all in all a decent point and shoot that one can work whilst on the lash.

It’s yet to be taken on an outing yet, as it didn’t come with a case. Personally if you are selling a camera with a large LCD screen, you should bundle a case with it. Even if it’s one of those socks, to prevent scratches on the screen. It also has a dial for changing the modes, which is handy, as on my last camera I kept hitting the self timer when trying to change the mode and getting photos of the inside of my bag, the carpet or the wall.

Watched:
Hello Dolly (1969) – still haven’t recovered from the weekend and musicals are my saviour.

The big 30 = the mother of all hangovers

I’m thirty! Woop-de-doo…

I’m glad I went out for a meal with the folks on Friday as the prospect of eating anything today seems unlikely. The premise of getting off the sofa, showering and leaving the house seem unlikely too!

It was a fantastic night though – great drinks, great friends, fabulous presents – only glitch was the damn service charge.
TRAILER HAPPINESS has evil service charge for sitting down and drinking your drinks. On the plus side it has many cocktails, a lush seating area, funky tunes and a unisex toilet (if you like that sort of thing!)
Note to self: triple check for future bookings about the evilness of the hidden service charge.

The birthday girls (Helen and myself) with our sparkly cake :D

I’ve been threaded to perfection, now I need to find a brave soul to deal with my winter feet!

Transporter 3 (2008) – really silly now, should have ended the franchise with the second one.
